We pariticipated in an annual charity race here in Kilmarnockj,VA for the local Hospice. This event drew 140 boats this year in about 8 divisions. The CG 31 was assigned a handicap of 222. The race conditions on the 7.5 NM course were 20 kts with higher gusts. The triangular-windward/leeward course was sailed by all boats in these conditions.

We had a good time and finished 3rd in our division despite our late start ( 3 minutes ) and other bumbles along the way. I have posted some pictures in the gallery ( Grey Seal ) . The boat was sailed with all canvas up and no reef in the main. There were times in the higher gusts when the rail was under but the boat was well balanced and sailed very well. I will post some results of other boats in the race (corrected time) which is interesting but not necessarily conslusive. One thing is certain however, these boats perform surprisingly well for there size and displacement compared to many other boats. Best Mark SV "Grey Seal"
