Yah, pretty good, Adam.

(PS: funk night Cumberland Friday 7 days from now??? Five Alarm Funk)

Thanks for the reply

Cecil told me about a ton to sink the waterline a full inch, when she's at her proper draft.

I just took a 6 week stability and construction for my 150 ton master at BCIT in North Van, and all the MCTC and Centre of Flotation makes sense, but all I could get from the instructor besides the goobldy-gook about equations was that less weight lower down gives more freeboard and the desired effect in heel.

Tantramar's trim changes quite easily, I've got 7 x 80lb blocks of lead I'm playing around with and just a couple blocks will sink the bow and raise the stern or vice versa. 100 gallons of water and fuel also make a big difference, bottles o' rum, ukuleles, dinghies, fishing gear, laptops. Ah the liveaboard calamity. Rain Gear.

CF [Centre of Flotation] is my big "hhmmmmmm" ponder. If CF is say 6 inches below waterline, than 2000 lbs but 18 inches below CF equates to 1000 lbs put 36 inches below waterline of force, so when I find the distance between the bottom of my keel and the CF, then I know how to achieve the same force as the amount of lead I'm finally happy loading the ol' girl down with!

Anyway, would Silva Bay be a reasonable place to embark on said project? I was thinking there or Lund, but I'd need somewhere who wouldn't mind if I melted and cast lead into a shoe as well.

Well, gotta run. Big hello from rainy Ucluelet.
