Thanks Richard. Where did you notice leaks? Were they in the cabin?

I have a feeling that the damage has extended beyond the bulwarks and into portions of the deck, particularly near the lowest point scupper where I first noticed water pooling. That said, I haven't noticed any other damage. One area of concern I have is the balsa "cored" insulation installed along the hull. If water is leaking into that area, I'm assuming I have mush in there. Does your boat have balsa installed? My understanding is that this is just for insulation purposes. While it does add some stiffening effects to the hull, it's not necessary and I'm thinking it may not be that big of a deal if it's wet in places.

I'm also looking at the possibility of having someone local (Seattle) do the repair. My thinking is that I may be able to save some money by not having to truck the boat to the CG yard; rather just have it hauled into one of the yards here. My second thought is that by doing the repair here, I'm more likely to be able to do some of the work myself in the evenings and on the weekends. Of course, then I miss out on all the valuable advice I'm sure I'd receive from Todd and his staff. Any thoughts on this idea?

Jason.
