Having registered, please take a few moments to set up your personal profile and determine the forum settings you require.

To start this process, please click on the "My Control Center" on the forum menu.

The first page is your basic profile: 

Edit Profile Here you can enter you full name if you are using an alias for your logon.
Edit signature Here you can create a signature that will appear on all postings you make. We highly recommend that you do not include telephone numbers or e-mail addresses here. 
Edit Email Settings This is where you can change your e-mail address
Edit Privacy Options There are two items here:
  1. Allow users to see my e-mail address: We don't recommend this
  2. Allow other users to see when I am logged on: No problem here.
View and join Groups You don't need to worry about this at the moment - this is a feature we have created to allow for expansion of the forum - for example, if the Falmouth Cutter guys decided to join us, they could have their own group.
Edit my Avatars An Avatar is basically an image: I can be anything you want, provided the image is at a resolution of 72 pixels per inch, and is no more that 100 x 100 pixels. So you can have a picture of yourself, or your boat on every posting. Please Note: You MUST set a label for each image you put up - this is how the database finds them. You must also have a default image.
Private Messages Here you can communicate with any REGISTERED user of the site without using e-mail, and without the message being posted on the forum.
Forum Settings  
Time Zone Here you can set your time zone so that messages are properly synchronized. 
Language The default language is English - US. We have the ability to load other languages so that all menus are viewable in your language. If you would like your language, please send admin a private message and I will have it loaded for you. 
Thread Override - List This determines how you view threads: there are the possibilities:
  1. Default: This provides a simple list of the threads available.
  2. View threaded - this is the most practical f your choices as you can see the original thread, and all replies.
  3. 3. View Flat: This will show the text of a thread and all replies in one window, but it's hard to see who replied to which message.
Thread Override - Read This determines how you view messages: there are the possibilities:
  1. Default: This presents the message and all replies in immediately readable format, but it's hard to see who replied to which message.
  2. View Threaded - This supplies the original message, and a listing of all replies.
  3. View Flat: This presents the message and all replies in immediately readable format, but it's hard to see who replied to which message.
Enable email-notification as default Setting this to "Yes" means you will receive e-mail notifications of ALL messages posted to the forum.
Enable "Add my signature" as default This will attach your signature to all messages that you post and all replies you create.
Edit My Files This is where you can add or delete images from your folder. (This should not be confused with the gallery - this only applies to messages you have uploaded with attached images.)
